We have also had some recent payment problems with Cogent. They promise to make a payment by a certain time but they have missed the last 3 deadlines. Who was Coversign-a precedent company?

Having some recent "late payment" issues with Cogent. I recall that some of the return address labels on envelopes received from Cogent said "Coversign". Never had any dealings with Coversign, but seems that they are linked.

I did a signing for Maurice, Jan 11, and never got a response from my emails or phone messages when payment was late. His fax # was busy 24/7. I filed with the BBB and posted on a handfull of message boards. In April, I called Cogent and got the run around about them already paying Coversign and to contact them. After a couple more calls and emails, I suggested that I may have to include them in my complaints to the FTC, Sec/State, Attorney General, etc. After all engaging in commerce through the internet with no intention to pay for services rendered smelled like fraud to me! And... the HUD just happens to list fees for the "Notary" going to no particular party. I added that the "notary" was me and I have not been paid!

I didn't think I'd ever see the money, but a check came a week later from Cogent Closing Associates and it even included the late fee I had applied.

I did a signing for them Dec. 2007 and they have not paid. I think it odd that their website says they closed for business 2-2007. How could they have called me 3 months ago to do this signing? Does anyone know if they have been out of business for a year? Cogent Closings said they won't help.

Cogent denies any relationship with Maurice Coleman and Coversign..although their confirmations sometimes cite Coversign (think their editor needs eyeglasses..<G>)..Maurice appears to be among the missing and owes a lot of people money...Cogent will not honor any of his outstanding invoices...

All what I read...no personal experience - thankfully I wasn't available the two time Maurice called me.

Don't they also go by the name Cogent Title? I read in another post about Cogent being a deadbeat.

I did a signing for them in Dec. 2007 and have not been paid. I called and was told that they had moved and they would get a check out to me as soon as they were settled. I have called severaL times since and can not get anything but an answering machine. Never any call backs. Do not work for them as you will not be paid.
