The name in the notary section should be the same name as on the ID.
No more no less.

Has anyone else been given a "defect" for having borrower sign the mortgage documents "AS their name is Typed" including the AKA or FKA in their signature? It has been drilled into our heads that borrowers need sign the documents in the loan packages "as their name is typed" which sometimes includes AKA or FKA. The first time I was told this was incorrect I sent back my challenge with the rule given to NSA's. That time the defect was removed. Again this second time I responded with the verbiage we have had drilled into us. The defect was deleted and a new set of mortgage pages were sent to me to have the borrower sign again, which the lender had removed the AKA and FKA that had been on the original documents. What is the correct answer to this issue?

I have been a notary for more than 15 years. I have done over 3,000 signings. Love animals and small children. I am NNA certified.

If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.

The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid. There is a link to our free list of signing companies. There is also a glossary, learning tools, and much more. If you are a notary, the free tips we give are invaluable.
