Sadly i have run into this problem as well. There is a lot of new "agencies" or more so new sole proprietors who are new to the business and of course just like all of us were DESPERATE for business so they take anything to get contracts but the problem is after a few months they realize this is not for them (probably because they charge to low and dry up lol) they leave these signing agencies and escrow offices thinking we will take anything and all they leave is a bad reputation and old domain names that clog the local yellow pages and google maps ads. But yes i agree with you very much i want to do something to start spreading awareness to these escrow offices and signing companies to let them know what our liability is, the risk, the overhead and the problems we face.

Best Regards,

Shouldn't it be that when an escrow company comes directly to you outside the agency system, they shouldn't be low balling notaries? They usually allocate as much as double a notaries fee on the HUD in order to accommodate the agency.

I got a call from a lady from an escrow company. She had a Saturday morning signing and claimed she would normally pay $80 put would extend it to $90 for me. I was deeply appalled. If these people can't afford to pay us our fee, they shouldn't be in business. Period. I told her what my fee was and she couldn't pay $100.

I think they're just too greedy to want to pay notaries what they're worth sometimes.

Sincerely yours,
