My fees are based on my own profit margin - regardless of who is writing the check, or what their own profit margin requires.

Charge the title company your usual loan signing fee $125 or $150. When working with signing companies, I view that I am giving them a discount (charge less) because they need a cut (their work for negotiating a contract to work with the TC or lender, marketing, signing logistics, etc.). If someone doesn't value your expertise and service, do you really want to work with them?
How long has the loan signing fee of $125 been around? I believe it has been several years at least. What other fee has remained the same, although the cost of living and doing busines has risen?

I'm probably everyone's worst enemy for this (and my own, too) but I don't charge differently - my fees are my fees and they're the same if it's a TC or an SS....it's based on the job to be done and distance/time involved, not on what type of entity is paying me...
JMO - and like I said probably my own worst enemy...:)

Short answer: Yes,sort of~~
Long answer: Many TCs are thinking, if a notary will do it for $XX for an SS, why should we pay the same notary $XXX when we can put that money in our pocket?
This makes a good case for 'one price for all', whether TC or SS. Also, if you do that you might get more TC business with a lot less handholding than SS.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether to charge Title Companies a higher fee who come directly to you to avoid agencies? Why shouldn't the signing agent get the entire fee they would include for the agency in the refinance? Most offer $150 on average the agency takes a portion of.
I asked for $125 today from a title company in Florida and she was very disappointed and practically hung up in my ear.
Sincerely yours,
