Notary Assurance, suffers what I call, "B.A.P.", which stands for Big Attitude Problem.
I've done a few closings for this company and I request in writing that I'm to be paid 10 days after N.O.C., has expired. For example I performed a closing on 02/24/2012. I received a check on 03/12/2012. According to my math that's 14 days, not 30-45 days.
I inquired about my most recent closing, (performed on 09/13/2012). The email response I received was rude and told me that I'd have to wait 30-45 days. I responded with the above listed dates of closing and payments. Barry "Keir" McCutcheon replied to further emails with argument stating he did not pay me that quickly. At this point, it was clear Mr. McCutcheon and I were not going to agree with the facts, although, apparently a scanned check from Notary Assurance with the date stamped 03/09/2012 did not enlighten his sense of reality.
As I've stated in a previous post, I don't mess around with the collection, I call the Lender and ask for an accounting. The borrower is paying for my notary services, and I'm sure the lender has paid Notary Assurance, therefore, I make it their problem. The lender has always made sure I've been paid directly after filing a complaint, which is usually in email form.
I have no sympathy for Barry "Keir" McCutcheon. This is all very simple contract law; You hire me, I perform the job, you pay me in a timely fashion without a demand. |

I have done several closings for this company over the last year or so and have worked and communicated with Keir McCutcheon specifically. He explained their payment process takes anywhere from 30 to 40 days and in my experience it's usually more than 30 days before payment is received. This last assignment, 4/16/12, was contracted at $125 but the check they are mailing, dated 5/16 and not yet received as of 5/23 (CA to TX mail usually takes 3 to 4 days, not 7) is for $100. They will pay the shortage but, more than likely, I will have to wait at least another week for the $25. Many of the other notary service companies I work with pay within 15 to to 21 days. In summary, Notary Assurance takes unfair advantage of the notaries they use and I am displeased with them. If I had enough other work I would decline their jobs. |

LOW BALLERS, HIGH MAINTENANCE
I wouldn't recommend working with this company at all.
Every loan signing I did for them was 160 pages plus, and included at the very least a dozen documents to notarize. Yet I had to arm wrestle them to pay me anything above their default $100 fee. The straw that broke the camel's back however was when they contacted me explaining how one my notarizations was eaten by their copier. They expected me to provide them with a new copy and send it UPS free of charge. I told them I would do it for the VERY modest fee of $10.00 to cover gas/paper/ink/etc costs and they got all indignant and acted if I was asking the world of them.
They expect you to do them favors yet they have you sign a contract agreeing that if YOU mess up you either don't get paid or have your payment docked unless you fix it. When I pointed this out to them they tried to claim I made numerous errors before which they never called me on but turned out to be another Notary with the first name. Did they apologize? No.
I find this company highly unprofessional and a headache to work for. That said if you want notarizations that involved a lot of work for little payoff then feel free accept their jobs. They do pay within 30 days and even paid me all remaining payments once ties were cut. Still, avoid Mary at all costs as she's a drama queen, although Keir was very easy to work with.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't let them sucker you into there stupid annual fee. I never paid it and they still used my services many times. If they are in need of your services they'll call you no matter what, which also means if they aren't then $10.95 a year is not going to change that.

The made a few changes in the computer system and how the do the billing internally. They are sending a bunch of checks out this week. I know for a fact they are comitted to getting checks out between 15-30 days. If you having a problem call Kier, he is super and will be happy to help you. |

<< please tell me how I can get other signings for different companies >>
Gladys, my suggestion for getting more business is to pay for a listing on this site (I did not find a notary listing for you here on 123Notary). I found a listing for you on the other major site, but it's just a free listing. If you pay for premium membership, you move up toward the top of the page and will get called before others that are listed lower.

Gladys, there's a list of signing companies here that you can refer to for marketing - the companies are all linked to their reviews here so you can read notaries' feedback about the company..I think if you go to the home page for 123, scroll down and look for "List of Signing Companies" under Notary Resources.
Good luck!!

I have been working with them now for a few months and I have noticed that I am getting paid 45 days instead of the 30. I hoping they are just running behind because they are great to work for. Linda I am in Hampton, VA where are you located at.
