I've been asked for a copy of my stamp and seal on a blank sheet of paper several times. I won't do it. I was told that they scan the sheet with your seal onto a computer and then photoshop it onto all sorts of documents that was not included in the original package. Don't know how true that is.

I totally agree with Carmen's great advice. Years ago, I had a very wise Signing Agent once tell me, What would you tell the judge? I feel you made the only decision in this case. I never, never give anyone authorization to correct my notarial certificate. I always remember when I complete it, I am doing so under penalty of prejury.

What!! I can't believe it. This is outrageous. Did you question them about this and ask them why they need such information in the first place.??? And permission to correct your notarial section and a copy of your stamp?? These are really BIG no no's. It is illegal and they probably know it.

".. along with a copy of my notary log page..." Check your handbook or state law for proper procedure for requesting a journal entry. Most states have procedures in place for this type of request. Make sure the company follows proper procedure.

I have never seen this request before. Me either...care to share the name of this company??

Good Luck!!

Sounds like they want everything needed to commit forgery, including the ability to 'prove' it isn't--a copy of your journal page--if it ever got questioned. And you'd never know--until your E&O pays off or you lose your commission--or worse.

I just got a sellers package that has this form in it and the title company wants me to give them permission to correct any errors on my notary section. Is that even legal?

they also want a sample of my notary stamp along with a copy of my notary log page? I have never seen this request before.
