I performed a signing for Consumer Title Services (Westlake, OH) on 9/22, received my check yesterday and they were a pleasure to work with. |

FYI - I spoke with Jenny at Consumer Title in OH and Dan McNamara does work there but he only "works" there and has no control over accounting. She encouraged me to give them a try and not be concerned about Dan. I actually had an appointment during the time she needed but told her I would give them a chance. If I do I will keep you posted on payment practices, etc. |

HELP! I am having the hardest time getting paid by Platinum. I just found this forum and see that I'm not alone. Can anyone share exactly what they did to get their money? ARGH!
Thanks! Bill wfairlaw2@aol.com |

Did you by any chance make a copy of the check before going to the bank? It could be that the numbers were cut off after the check went through the banking system. I can't imagine a bank would cash a check that didn't have the routing and account numbers on it. |

I just received a check for a closing in May. I took it to the bank and they cashed it on Friday but I got called today because the check had no routing number on it and no account number. It seems to me that this has turned into a crimanal matter now since I think this classifies as a bad check. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I followed the advice of others on the forum and sent the suggested collection letter that Carmen shared. |

It sounds like it doesn't matter if you look under those companies, I think Dan is the same person behind Consumer title. I could be wrong but it sounds like the same person to me. If anyone is interested for his contact info just email me and I'll send it to you.quote: Originally posted by CopperheadVA
From previous posts, I saw that the TC is named American Title Solutions. I looked up their website. The staff listing shows yet another McNamara working at the TC (M.K. McNamara). There is an attorney named James Pearl listed on the staff page with a link to e-mail him.
So, now on to Google. Found the Ohio Sec of State website. Looked up American Title Solutions on their business registration page (be sure to spell TC name correctly or it won't come up):
http://www2.sos.state.oh.us/pls/portal/PORTAL_BS.BS_QRY_BUS_INFORMATION1.SHOW_PARMS
Voilą! The attorney, James Pearl, is listed as the registered agent, along with an address for his contact info. If it were me, I would be sending a letter to Mr. Pearl via both regular mail and certified mail.
Anyone who is owed money by Daniel McNamara and Platinum Closing Services, you need to avail yourself of this public information. I myself would also probably send a letter to the Ohio Secretary of State AND the lenders on each deal, as there seems to be some sort of *family connection* between these companies who are contracting work but not paying their contractors.
When I have to go to these lengths to get paid by a company, I throw as much stuff against the wall as possible, because you never know which one will stick. I usually end up ruffling enough feathers that I get some action.

Hi kimcole132,
I think at this point, I would try and find out the e-mail addresses for the President and Vice President of the TC by going on-line to the TC website and/or looking up the TC on the state department of corporations website. E-mailing Susan McNamara will probably yield no results, because she is probably his wife or his sister and is in his corner. Maybe Susan's bosses will be interested in her little *arrangement* with Daniel McNamara and how it's working out.
If you can't find e-mail addresses, then fax or mail to the attention of the president and also contact the lender. Once you contact their client, these deadbeat companies miraculously seem to be able to produce a check. I even had one who told me "Don't ever contact my client again!". Sorry, I only do so as a last resort. had you paid me, it wouldn't have been necessary.

Guess what?? I am still waiting on payment for 2 signings I completed for Dan in June. Shocker right?! I believed his story about getting paid on time, notaries not sending invoices in correctly, blah, blah, even though my gut and the forum told me otherwise. Live and learn. If Dan, Dan McNamara, Dan from Platinum, or Dan from whatever he decides to call himself that day, calls you do yourself a favor and decline. He MAY pay for the very first signing you do for him but that's it!!! He no longer responds to any emails I send to pcinvcs@aol.com or info.platinum@gmail.com. I even tried smcnamara@americantitlesolutions.com (wife?) and still no response! |

On June 24, I was contacted by Dan McNamara from Platinum Closing Services and agreed to handle a closing for them. After getting the documents at the last minutes, and then having to reprint several documents because of errors, I completed the closing and sent the package back to the title company per instructions. I then spoke with him a couple of days later and verified that everything was in order.
Today is August 14, and I have still not been paid. The last time I spoke to him, about two weeks ago he implied he was still waiting for payment. Today, I spoke to the contact listed at the Title Company for the closing, American Title Solutions, and she informed me that McNamara was paid on June 29th, five days after the closing.
I got a new e-mail address for McNamaral, info.platinum@gmail.com, and sent an e-mail informing him that I would be posting my experience with him here, contacting my attorney, and exploring options with the North Carolina Attorney General to pursue steps to keep him from doing business in North Carolina in the future.
I would suggest avoiding this guy completely. If you were one of the few who received payment in a timely manner, count your blessings and don't take another chance on this person. His business ethics stink.
Oh, I forgot to mention that he is now avoiding my calls and not answering e-mails.
Do yourself a favor....call the title company and request a copy of the canceled check issued to Platinum - then get a copy of the recorded security instrument showing the document YOU notarized was the one that recorded...
Add a copy of the confirmation they sent you and now you've got your guns loaded - you're all set for a small claims action and you're now able to prove (1) they agreed to pay you...(2) your loan recorded and funded; and (3) they were paid....
Good Luck!!

Would not recomment working for Daniel McNamara he's affiliated with American Title Solutions and works with Susan McNamara (his wife?) It's far too much work getting paid and too many excuses from them. They are located in Independence,Ohio and the check came from Avon Oh by an Ann Churchin. BEWARE FOLKS!

I finally received a payment from this company for the closing that I did. It took constant calling and emailing in order for me to acquire the payment.

It's now a little over month and a half that I have been waiting for payment on one closing. I have spoke with Dan numerous times, I just spoke with him yesterday. He continously claims the payment was sent out and that I should be receiving it. Has this happen to anyone else, where you waited this long for him to send a payment? |

That's exactly the name that he is using. So they are using two different company names. I have called him and emailed him, now he isn't responding. |

This is another company that doesn't pay. I did a closing for them on April 17, 2008. I am still awaiting payment. I contacted them several times regarding the payment. I was told that the payment was sent out. I called again and then was told that all the checks came back because of improper postage. I sent the invoice to the company later the day of the closing. I also resent a copy in May because they stated they didn't get an invoice. I kept records and copies of all the information that was forwarded to this company from myself. Yet, I still have not gotten a payment. This company is located in Mentor, Ohio. If you do a closing for this company I suggest you agree to get your payment immediately. Has anyone else did a closing with this company? |
