I have recently quit working for them as they expected alot for a little. They wait until the very last minute to get you the documents, you don't receive payment for a month out at minimum and if any mistakes are made they will be taking $5 off for each issue.

Has anyone worked with Pacific Document Signing recently. Just got an order and from past post, I do not know whether to do it.

For credibility purposes--I've been doing this for over 18 years and trust me when I say "You will not be able to increase your fee; there is NO loyalty; anything less than $100 is too low--even if you can walk to the appt. (travel is more $$); know your cost+profit for everywhere you'll go and never, ever work for less."

I did a job for them on Feb 9, 2012. It was my first job with them. I faxed the invoice right over and still have not been paid. I faxed it a second time today and will post when paid.

Per Wiki:

"Limbo is a popular form of dance that originated on the island of Trinidad. The dancer moves to a Caribbean rhythm, then leans backward and dances under a horizontal pole without touching it. Upon touching it or falling backwards, the dancer is "out". When several dancers compete, they travel in single file, and the stick is gradually lowered until only one dancer — who has not touched either the pole or the floor — remains.".

There is an analogy, they ask you to bend over backwards and see how low you can go. I prefer to not do their "dance". Manners forbid me from suggesting a more appropriate use for their "Limbo Stick".

I recently got a call from them to do a refi signing. They offered $40 and I told them that I would not do it for less than an amount that is over $100. She said she needed to get approval. Called back within 3 minutes with the approval. Their docs were neat and orderly which made for an uneventful signing. Now I just have to see how their payment speed is. They provide an invoice for you to complete when the signing is done (PDF) and email back. I also included my payment policies document and I recieved a "thank you" email from my contact without any objections to my payment policies. So here is crossing my fingers. If this experience is an indication of their standard mode of operations I'd totally welcome more work from them. But then I also make it clear that if a company goes past 60 days the inital fee and additional late fee charges are immediately turned over to a collection agency.

I have done some recent signings for this company (mostly partial 1-2 doc signings). I did two full packages fo $80.00 just to get them familiar with me. When they called again I asked for $90 (working my way to $100), and they refused and have not called since. Now I am having trouble collecting the signing I did do for them. Are they still slow/no pay?

I agree with Linda - those fees are way too low. I started out in 2005 charging $150 for my very first closing. If a company needs someone in your area for a closing, they will call you if you have a listing on 123Notary or the other major notary site.

You will only get those fees if that's all you think your services are worth; a full e-doc signing, IMO, should be at LEAST $100 - paying $65 for that kind of service is obscene and is taking advantage of you. I don't care how much experience you DO or DON'T have - you still have to print 200+ pages, travel, sit with signers for however long, then there's the time to print and travel AND time at the table, not even counting your notarization fees, post-closing activities such as reporting, dropping package, etc etc, or taxes! If all that added up isn't worth more than $65 then I'll eat my hat!!

'..but they are nice and pay quickly.."....ugh...please..really??

I just signed up with them. Per NotRot you will probably only get $65 edocs and $40 overnighted but they are nice and pay quickly. I'm only doing this to get established, as the better paying companies won't accept me until I can give references and have done quite a few signings.

I just accepted an order from PDS of LA on National Blvd. Has anyone done any recent signings for this company? In reading older posts this is the "good" PDS.

So I received a call today from a "Pacific Document Signing" and they had a signing for me. The number I was called from was (310) 481-0750. I told them to "Tell me about the signing," which this nice girl (that could barely speak English) told me when and where, said it would be overnighted documents and it pays $40. I said, "Wow, a whole $40.....where will I spend it all?" I kindly advised her that this wasn't even up for discussion since the fee was idiotically low. "Idi......what do you mean?" Good gravy. I told her that I wasn't some moron notary that accepts low-ball fees thinking that I was somehow "making money." That sort of ended the conversation. I cannot believe (1) there are companies offering these insulting fees, and that (2) there are dimwits out there who would accept a signing for $40. As long as they're out there, the profession will continue to be screwed up for the rest of us.

My bank signed me up for Re$ubmitIt. It's an electronic check recovery system. I've only had one bad check recently. They collected it and deposited the entire amount into my checking account. Their fee is collected from the NSF check writer. In my case, the fee charged was $35.

I did a closing for Pacific Documents Services, 9030 Brentwood Blvd, Livermore, CA, Paul Gaumbs back in 02/10 and received payment in 05/10 after several phone calls emails and faxes.

I deposited the check and two days later was notified by my bank that the check was returned for NSF. Paul stated that their wire did not hit on time, how can a company operate their finances that closely? He said he would send me a certified check to include the $18 bank fee, I will post the results.

If it's the same Pacific Document Signing Inc., 10801 National Blvd., Ste. 510, LA, CA - I did a signing on 3/17 and called them on April 26th and left a message with the receptionist. I received my fee a few days later.

You probably need to call and prod them. Good Luck.

I did a couple of signings for Pacific Document Signing in LA, Calif. Is this the good one? Which one is the bad Pacific? I called them today to find out when they were going to send my check. The receptionist took my number but no one called back. It seems the person in charge of checks "was in a meeting". Where have I heard that before?

Susie..you need to be more specific about the company that contacted you - there are two Pacific Document companies...one is very good - one is very bad...

Address and phone numbers will help.

You're right - I am blessed.
My thinking is that a company that screws over the notaries would prefer one that is not a forum user. Seems logical to me. I only wish I had read the forums when I began this business 3 years ago.
