I see that there hasn't been a whole lot of discussion about this company lately, but I too thought I'd chime in. I've only done two signings for them, and though the second one was just several days ago, I had NO difficulty being paid almost immediately for the first one. That's a good start, anyway.

Thought I'd throw my .02 in about this company...

Did a Structured Settlement signing for them on 9/24/09 - got my check in full payment today - last I'd heard this deal did not go through as I got 4 phone calls from the signer the next day begging me to return the original docs - she'd changed her mind as she'd been advised by her attorney not to go through with it. Got a call from her attorney too - sorry, docs went back and I referred him to the company.

I'll work for Stone Street again....

Hello Fellow Notaries -

I don't usually activly participate on Notary forums but feel inclined to here. I am shocked to see any negative remarks concerning Stone Street Capital (based out of Bethesda, MD). I have 5 years of Notary signings under my belt, probably totalling over 1000 transactions, and I have to say that Stone Street stands out as one of the most reliable, dependable and trustworthy companies I have ever worked for!

They are courteous and polite every time I speak with them. Confirmations are sent with speed and without error. They include an invoice form for you to fax/send back (even though I always include my own invoice in addition), and most importantly I don't think I have ever had to call them and remind them to pay my fee! They simply forward me the notary payment, (in advance of the deal funding), just as they should!

I truly and genuinly have to give Stone Street Captial 5 out of 5 stars and highly reccomend taking an appointment with them if you are called. They are nothing like JG Wentowrth and the standards which they always use when dealing with notaries speaks volumes about their credibilty and character as a company!

Please email me with any questions concerning Stone Street Captial.

Rceived a call from one of the LOs who 'was in town' for just the application process. One doc to notarize and he told me to invoice his company. I told him that I had severe concerns in regards to his company (not him) and that I would require a check, Paypal, or cash at signing. LO said he would call me back once he spoke to Stone Street. His did call back, however his office gave a lame excuse of they had an employee who did not do their job...blah blah, I told him sorry but no thanks. I will not work for free. Thank you all for advising us on companies that do not pay! We all have to support eachother in these tough times.

At this point, I have realized Stone Street is not going to pay me. They have ignored all of my efforts to collect from them. I'll be turning them over to a collection agency.

Just got a call from these people to do a structured settlement signing. I was on my lunch hour and was going to try to fit it in, but there just wasn't enough time, so they had to give it to someone else. When I got back to work I read this about them and WOW! I guess everything happens for a reason! Glad it didn't work out now!

Just following up on my 3/24/09 post regarding a signing I completed for Stone Street on 1/17/09. I sent them a demand letter regarding their non payment. They have still not responded and no payment has been received. I really don't think they intend to pay me. I'll be starting collection proceedings against them & just wanted to let other notaries know that working for them is risky.

Just to let everyone know, it has been more than 60 days since I completed a signing for Stone Street. I have requested payment by email, sent them 2 invoices, and have left messages requesting they call me regarding this matter. So far, they have not responded.

i want to thank everyone for their comments on this forum. i was asked to do a signing for stone street by ryan armstrong and after checking this for comments, i told them i would do it ONLY if they sent me a check first. this request, of course, was denied. if we all stick together and ask to be paid up-front, they won't be able to find any notaries to rip-off anymore!!

I won't do another one for this company. It took me 60 days to get paid (had to call several times, faxed my invoice , emailed and was told many times that it would be looked into and would call me back. Never received a call back. Finally recieved the check today. Please don't call me again.

HI,

I recently did a signing for Stone Street. I had to send them a reminder invoice, but I did get paid.

Phyliss John, reply to the email that was sent to you by stone street to set up the closing and tell them you have not been paid. Then do it again about every 3 days or so and you will be paid eventually. I had a similar experience one time with them and they did pay in about 10 days after I started reminding them. If you can email your invoice attached to the email even better.

Hubby and I have worked with them no problem for over 1.5 years...did you send an invoice? Without it they do not pay.

I did a job for them on 3/28/07 and have yet to be paid. I thought I would be paid no problem, so I took another on 4/29/08 and I have not been paid for either one as of today.

I've only worked for the Lottery Division. Simple stuff, mobile vs. loan work, paid well, and Check's cut same day Fed Ex delivered documents to their office.

It has been a year since I last was contacted by them.

I have done 2 closings 1 paid for less then agreed price after I complained about payment I ,next one wasn't paid at all and third request I declined. They try to pay me $60.00 and my fee is closer to $85.00 I don't think they are above not paying here in Wisconsin

I have had a very bad experience with this company. It is similar to Peachtree (which I think is great), and I have avoided Wentworth due to other notary site's opinions. I would group Stone Street with Wentworth.

Best wishes,

Donna
