This is the best idea since sliced bread - I think! :-)

Any problems with lenders or SS's as far as not giving the borrower a paper copy?

Thanks for sharing Joan...one of notaries in Orange County shared this with me a couple of years ago and she has great success with this and her clients and the borrowers love it. I loved the idea when I first heard it from her and started asking the borrower what they would prefer CD, email or paper. They usually opt for the CD or the email and this saves a ton in paper.

I also refill my ink cartridges from tonerkits.com (what a great place, refilling them is so darn easy..I love it)). This way with both of these work arounds I can ( and all of you) can save a fortune in ink and in paper.

(BTW, Jeremy, if they have the CD they can also save it to their hard drive...)

The response I have been getting from putting docs on a CD has been HUGE every person I have done it with so far is very happy I always give the borrower the important docs (RTC,TIL,NOTE, Payment Letter etc. etc.) printed. When I mentioned it to one of the title companies I work for I was told that when the docs are recorded and sent back to them they put the docs on a CD and send it to the customer and one copy to the Realtor if it was a sale. Also when you go to buy paper you must go to the office depot website and get the web site price on their name brand Multi Use print paper, print it out and take it to office depot and they will price match the web site price in store $49.99, also office depot accepts competitors coupons Staples and office max and I have found they have the cheapest price on legal paper in my area.

Putting copies on a CD doesn't sit well with me. CD's could be damaged or corrupted more easily than paper. With documents so important, they should be on paper. At least the important ones should be in paper in my opinion.

I am going to start asking borrowers if they would like their copies on CD vs paper...Sounds like a great idea...saves costs of so much paper and with gas prices as they are, we need to think of every angle to save money...Linda

Ouch. At the rate those paper prices are going, pretty soon, we'll say, "its worth its weight in paper".

I tried to buy illegal paper at Staples. I asked, "do you have any illegal sized paper". The salesperson said, "yes, but its not illegal unless you get caught." Then I asked another salesperson, "do you have any illegal paper?". The second salesperson said, "illegal fake papers? Yes.. check out my fake green card".

I guess it would be nice to see what Leno would say about the trials and tribulations of the signing profession.

I was in Sam's Club today and and found the price of legal size paper had gone up over $2.65 in the last week and is now $42.65 + tax.

I am in Riverside CA so your price could be different. When I returned to my office I immediately took advantage of www.quill.com special offer on legal size paper. Put code: 134-S-214300 and buy the paper for $39.90 + tax per case. Order 2 and you get free delivery.

Put in coupon code: yvh and save $15 off your price.

You can order each case for $32.40 + tax. If you aren't located in CA you don't have to pay sales (per their instructions).
