I did two signing for them in May 2007 and they did send me a check....A BAD CHECK. I've been getting very excuse in the book from Jarrod and then he even suggested that I send the check back and he write me another one.

If anyone has a copy of a letter of demand, I'd love to have a copy of it so that I can send it to him and any other signing company that I have not received payment for. Thanks.

Good News - I have finally received all payments from this company - I still would not recommend doing signings in the future for this company.

If you haven't already, send them a demand letter. I, too, did a signing for them in mid-Feb. I consider anything after 30 days late so when three phone calls and three reminders didn't produce a check, I sent a demand letter (similar to one Carmen has posted on this board). It was overnighted and I received it today.

Same thing over here. I completed 2 signings in January and can't collect on the payment. I have called and Jarrod says they will be sent. Then they have been sent. He even stated today that he has sent them twice w/out asking my name. Says he even stopped payment on them once. LOL. Today(4/3) he offered to send them via Fedex if I wanted to pay for it. Amazing isn't it?

That's a very good suggestion! Someone else suggested something similar -- to avoid not getting paid by escrow in case of a fall-through, tell them your terms of needing to be paid at the time of signing. Appraisals are a good example... almost always you'll see that the appraisers are paid no matter what and it's ususally at the time of signing. Should be the same for us.

Normally when it's a purchase the Borrower has funds in the escrow acct and the escrow officer can and will pay. I will be the 1st to admit that my follow up isn't always the best. But, since escrow companies pay better I usually remember to contact them if it's been longer than a week and I haven't received payment. I'm in LA and if an escrow officer makes the signing request I want to develop a relationship to keep the business flowing. So, maybe that's just something to keep in mind. I've also had incidences where I was requested to do a signing by an escrow officer and they requested that I collect my fee from the Borrower @ the signing.

I'd have to differ with you on that. I was hired by Escrow to do a two-loan signing, and because the loan didn't fund, they did *not* pay. I've heard two main trains of thought on this: 1) that they should still pay because you did the work and that some even have an operating or loss account for just such cases in case loans don't fund, and 2) the no fund/no pay acceptance. What's your thought?

Well... I have to disagree with you. Without signing services, I will be out of business in 2 days. I understand that some of those are pain in b$%# but, they are still a part of my income.

This is exactly why I REFUSE to work with signing companies. (well there are two that I love :)) It is just not worth the trouble. I do not have time/energy to run after my money. I am a title/escrow only kinda gal....

Has anyone had any experience with this signing company out of Fairfield, CA? I have only done two jobs for this company in December 2006 and January 2007 and have been unable to collect full fees. They have stopped responding to my emails and phone calls. Another deadbeat company.
