I had worked for N.E. for a while during the "good old busy days", but they haven't called in many months. I was aware of this policy, but never had an issue with it. I don't like it and would be furious if they didn't pay for services rendered. Nobody works for free, unless you're married. I will not work for them again. That's part of the cost of doing business but you don't pass on losses to your sub contractors, or you will soon be out of business.

After signing off loan docs (153 pages + copy package) plus travel my fee of $100 was declined. Reason- the deal did not fund. No payment for travel, printing and not to mention loss of other business because I blocked out time for this signing. It took two written notices for payment and 4 phone calls to their accounting department before they told me to read their disclosures. I think the policy for non payment should be in 16 point font bold. Had I been aware of this I would never have accepted the assignment. As it is I am no longer doing business with this signing agency and would put anyone on notice of their business practices dealing with mobile notary services.
