The key feature of Portable Data Format (PDF) is that it always looks the same no matter what device is viewing it. This was released as we see it. I agree that MS Word and others can "look different" based on the viewing platform, but not so with PDF. It is probable that you are right about the formatting error. Nevertheless, it should have not been released for use the way it is.

I think it's just an error in the formatting - the left margin of the ack itself, after the "personally known" or "proven to be" should have been moved back over to the left..should read like so:

____ personally known to me OR _____ proved to me on the basis of satisfactory evidence

To be the person(s0 whose name(s) is/are subscribed to the within instrument and acknowledged….. Etc etc.

Formatting issue. That's all.

Right you are Linda,

I phrase it slightly differently. If the affiant is "Personally Known" then there is NO notary statement whatsoever! What were they thinking?

The way it's formatted, only the person who provides proof of identification actually acknowledges the instrument - plus the acknowledgement is incomplete.

Ignoring the typo "an(d)" - can you tell what is REALLY wrong with this Acknowledgement?
