Here in FL, in the case of non-matching ID's, we have some workarounds we can employ to keep things moving.

However, if the names are just flat-out wrong, or it's a power of attorney signing and no one knew, and there's nothing in the instructions, if I can't reach anyone I'm aborting the signing - POA's have to be approved by title/lender prior to closing.

Hate to pack my toys and go home if there's any way I can legally save the signing, but there just comes some times when there's nothing you can do. And no, you don't ask the borrowers.

What happens if you are at a signing and something is very wrong. Perhaps the names are wrong, the ID's don't match, or there is a power of attorney signing.

The first thing you do is to call the lender. But, if the lender is not there, what then?

Do you salvage the loan, go home, or ask the borrowers what to do?
