Run. Even if they are just a new company, I wouldnt provide any info because new doesnt mean reputable. The fact that he kept pressing you for info seems suspect to me.

I am a notary that has been commissioned for 6 years in San Diego, California. I received a call from an escrow company north of San Diego. I was asked "normal" questions about my commission, bond and E&O so it could be determined if I qualify as a signing agent for the company. I was told the company name was Nexus and he wanted me to email him all of my appropriate certificates regarding my commission. I told him I was not comfortable to do so without an email from him so I can research his company. He texted me after we got off the phone with his email address and asked me to send the documents. I replied that I needed him to email me before I would email anything. I received an email from him this morning but not a lot of information was given regarding the company. I googled the company and didn't find a website for them. As I was researching the company, he called me and told me to email him my certificates. I asked if the company has a website he said no. I asked if the company was licensed and he said yes but wouldn't give me the #. He was trying to strong arm me. I have never run into anything like this before and I have given out my information to legitimate companies. My question is this, has anyone run into a situation like this in the past and if so what did you do about it? Thanks!
