There are a several things that I do.
First, I'd send them several over due notices useing progressively stronger language.

Second, I'll contact my attorney to call or write a letter for me, since I pay them a small monthly fee anyway http://myhelp4u.info/ the letter don't cost me anything extra.

Third, I'll send it to a collection agency such as Old Debt which has various collection options https://www.olddebts.com/ to collect your $28 or at least bug them.

They asked me to make another appointment with him, and this time he showed up. But, he wouldn't sign the papers because he didn't like the wording. I explained all this to the "client", and I sent him a bill for the two meetings, and told him when they were signed, I would send him a bill for the remainder of what we had agreed on. I charged him $28, and to this date I have not received anything. I have sent him bills and also called him and got his voice mail. He has never got back to me. I don't know where to go from here. Did you have any trouble collecting your fee from him?

Just completed one the first week in May, 2012 and was paid the $200 fee within 2 weeks. Considerable travel involved so I 'got it in writing' that I would be paid as agreed regardless of outcome. I'd work for them again.

Near as I can figure, this is a 'signing co' specifically for lawyer work. Maybe it's the lawyer who's not paying timely??

Is this a signing company that caters to Lawyers or an actual law firm? I ask because I read stories from other notaries who done signings for lawyers who end up not paying. All it took to get their money was one little threat regarding a phone call to said lawyer's BAR association. My understanding is you can get a lawyer in HUGE trouble by reporting non-payment to their local BAR association.

If it's a signing company and you know whe law firms/lawyers they represent you might want to contact them and let them know of the situation as they might be able/willing to help.

Has anyone ever done a signing with ServicesToLawyers? I've done two and on the second one I realized I was doing paralegal work (having litigation paralegal experience). ServicesToLawyers wants to pay $50 for these "signings" but I am charging my past paralegal hourly rate since these are not your typical signings. I'd like to know if anyone has any input on this.
