I am absolutely shocked to read some of these posts about Justice Title... I have been working with them quite some time now and I have always had the best experience with this company. Monique has always been very pleasant and extremely helpful and friendly! My documents have always been right.... never sloppily prepared as someone else experienced... As for pay... I love the way they pay!! They always meet or exceed my fee and I always have payment within 20 days or less. I hate that you guys have had any problems but for me I LOVE JUSTICE and love working for them!! Hope this helps someone else make a decision to work or not to work....

Jackie

Got a call on a Friday in Oct at 4 PM for a signing @ 6 PM that day. I did not see anything in this forum about them at that time. I printed 298 pages and drove 45 min. I did not get much time to go over the packet before I got to the appointment. It turned out to be a very sloppy packet. Some of the copies of copies could hardly be made out. They were in bind and I "helped them out". I did get paid in the end (after nearly 2 months) but every time I asked, I was sent to someone's voice mail. The bottom line with them was we will jump through hoops for them but they have more important things to do than answer any questions about pay. They will pay only when they get around to it. I now use Justice Title packet as an example of how bad one can look.

I have done quite a few with Justice Title and they have always paid me. They used to pay at funding but lately it seems to be anywhere from 15-30 days for payment. I always send an invoice in every package for whatever company I am working with (except for the companies that use the Notary Cafe platform because it's not necessary with the software they use).

We do a lot of business with them, we did not receive payment within the 30 day limit, found out it was our mistake! Always send the invoice when sending the docs to Justice Title we have not had any issues since and they pay early most of the time if not it has never been more than 20 days! Monique has been a pleasure to work with!

Yes, the BBB is an excellent tool to use when you can't get paid. I filed a complaint online and a few days later they sent me a confirmation saying they'd recieved my complaint and had begun to process it. I then forwarded that confirmation email to the owner of Justice Title and Escrow (Steve Crone) to let him know that I was serious.

That same day, I got a call from the man, himself, apologizing all over the place and laying blame on the accountant, who he said missed paying my invoice. (yada, yada). I told him that since I had waited so long for payment, that I'd like it overnighted or put into my Pay Pal account immediately. He said, "I'll go you one better and go to wherever you bank and deposit cash into your account within 15 minutes."

Lo and behold, I got a call a few minutes later from a Citibank officer who wanted my routing number, etc. After I hung up, I went online to my account and sure enough, there was the deposit.

Lesson learned is to not dismiss the BBB too lightly when you haven't been paid.

They contacted me again by email yesterday with a phone number and referral to The State Corporation Commission to follow through with the complaint. I have mixed feelings about it, since JT&E scrambled so to get me paid and I'm glad that's all behind me. On the other hand, maybe they need their hands slapped. I'll think on this.

I'm not sure the BBB will get much traction, but if you report them for failure to fulfill contractual obligations in a real estate transaction to the Secretary of the Commonwealth of VA, or the VA Bureau of Insurance, or the title insurance company that appointed them, you may get some traction.

This isn’t a signing company but my experience with them has been so bad that I think it bears posting a warning. I did a signing for them on Nov. 14th with an agreed upon pay date of 15 days out. It’s now Dec. 16th and I still haven’t received payment, though I’ve called and emailed them asking for it.

At about the 21 day mark I called Monique Morgan, the closing agent who hired me, and asked where my check was. She became quite terse when she heard my question and responded with an attitude of ‘how dare you call me and ask for money?’. She immediately said, “I’ll transfer you to our accountant”. Before I had a chance to say anything, I was sent off to another extension that rang several times without being answered. I hung up and called her back. When I told her the extension she transferred me to was unattended, she didn’t say anything at all. I was getting the cold-shoulder/silent-treatment at this point. Finally I said, “You hired me for this job and I want you to follow through to see that I get paid, just as I followed through with signing and returning your docs”.

There was another long pause, after which she said, “The accountant is off today.” When I asked why she transferred me to him if she knew that he wasn’t there, she again didn’t answer. Instead she said, “Send me another invoice and I’ll give it to him when he comes in.” Before I could ask when that would be, she hung up on me.

In any case, I emailed her another invoice immediately after she hung up. That was 8 days ago and I still haven’t received payment. I did, however, report Justice Title and Escrow to the BBB a few days ago and hopefully will get some results. Beware.
