The Notary needs to be an impartial witness to the transaction. If you want to be a sales representative of the company, you would be disqualified from notarizing the related transaction. The Notary may not be a party to the transaction, such as a sales rep.

If you wanted to be a sales rep, you would not sign the agreement as a Notary. You would only sign with your personal signature, after you have investigated the company, and executed a proper sales rep agreement, reviewed by your legal counsel.

I run from these! Not going to sign their form that I am a representative of THEIR firm. Not thanks. Problems down the road could haul you into court.

I would not sign this either! (No surprise there.) There is no way I would be considered a "representative" of the firm without certain assurances and considerations firmly in place. I might consider doing it after my attorney draws up a hold harmless agreement, the terms and conditions are clearly spelled out and is signed off by the law firm's senior partner or owner.

I agree. I don't want anything to do with the debt settlements... too many scams and they want you to represent yourself as an employee of the company which means when a problem develops the local person (notary) will be the first to be sued..

I have conducted a few signings for a FL based debt consolidation firm, I refused to sign their FACE TO FACE Form. See below. They said Okay, however recently they are insistent at having the client and the Notary sign it. I checked with the State and the NNA and it is outside the scope of the Notary. They were a good company to work for , paid on time, nice people. However, I think ethically, we have a problem. Please provide feedback.

Wording in form:
