As far as mileage goes, I just put in starting mileage as 0 then use google maps to determine the number round trip miles and it works for giving me total mileage on the report.

I'm starting the free trail of Notary Assist, and so far, I think it's going to be a great tool. I have created my own excel spreadsheets but I think this will help me even more. Especially with keeping track of tax info and the interaction of the pages.

Any new thoughts on notary tracking software? I'm leery about online services, since we can't track where OUR info eventually lands. On the other hand, Notary Assist seems interesting, but, a lot of wasted space when printing reports.

For four years I have done the same (excel spread sheets) but wondering if anyone REALLY likes notaryassist.com. I like the look of it, as it's based on excel, but is it worth the $$?

May do the same things, may not be as good, I do not know as I have not used QH&B. It comes from the NNA - so you have to think their first concern was making $ by marketing something to notaries. I was desparate and in a hurry and I found something that met my needs, was easy to use, and available quickly. I did not research all the possibilities. It has been working for me except for the mileage part. I come from a real estate background and had a similar type program that I used to manage my clients, closings, schedule... so this was an easy transition and felt familiar. The learning curve was very slight. I can not really recommend this program over others, just that it is easy to learn, easy to use, and has benefited me. I will probably look into something else for my mileage if I can not get what I need from this program.

I'm trying to imagine what this software could do that Quicken H&B doesn't do? QH&B is $99, I've been a Q-user since the mid 80's and I only upgrade every few years.

Holy Stuff ...that's getting close to 30 years. I hate math.

I started using it in Sept when I could not keep up with the increased volume in my business. I am not great with excel & the spread sheet I had been using was not working for me anymore. I like it so far & it has made keeping track of my outstanding invoices easy. It has also helped me keep my signings in my memory (I remember visual things better) and I use my calendar in my smart phone as a backup. I have not figured out how to make the mileage portion work for me. I do not record the mileage at start and finish of signings. I use a mapquest print-out and my date book. I am still using an excel spread sheet for that. I am sure there will be many who do not get paying for this type of thing, but my business has grown and become easier to manage with the notary assist program. The expense has been worth it to me. I plan on trying to get more out of it in the new year. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Shame on the company for charging $300 for a simple register, when there are many alternatives that we likely have on our computers now. It is no wonder that this site doesn't work.

Happy New Year.
