Cogent closing has been and continues to remain a reputable company. They like many others have been hit hard by the current market conditions, however, they continue to remain solvent. They do pay their bills. Sometimes they pay slower than other times, but I have never had a problem with them. Todd and Carmella have always been upfront and honest with me, and I have never had a reason to question their honesty and integrity.

I have done on average 20 closings a month for them for the past 14 months, and I have always been paid.

As for their relationship with Coversign; Cogent was a victim of bad business on Coversigns part. Coversign was an indepent signing service that Cogent hired and paid for closings. They are not affiliated in any way, not are they owned by the same company. Coversign accepted monies for services rendered by the notaries, and never paid the notaries. Please do not blame Cogent for the fact that Coversign did not have any ethics or integrity.

I appreciate all of the notaries sharing their experiences with companies they deal with, as it is helpful in my decisions on who to accept signings from, but I wish everyone had their information correct before posting negative information.

I hope that some will read this and give Cogent a break. They are a decent company that always follows through on their responsibilities.
