IME structured settlements don't come in so fast and furious that you'd need to print on the road - you normally have more than enough advance notice to get the docs done ahead of time and they're not date sensitive...in fact, the structured settlements I've done were overnighted to me. I would think mobile printing is used more in loan signings (when people were doing multiple signings in one day) than any other area of notary work - don't forget, for the most part in general notary work the signer provides the paperwork...

I guess it's up to you - I know the way my business has slowed down I wouldn't invest in a mobile setup right now...the market just isn't there at this point. Now, whereever you are, your situation may be different. It's all location, location, location..:)

No, you're not missing anything-I'm not an attorney, and a little new to the mobile notary business. I wasn't sure if E-Docs were used in other types of notarizations or situations. I actually just answered my own question though, as I received a job in which E-Docs will be e-mailed to me in my home for a structured settlement, to be delivered to the client.

I just wasn't sure if having a mobile laser would be worth it for anything else besides real estate signings.

Maybe I'm missing something here...in attorney states a notary can't do loan signings...they must be done by attorneys only - hence the term "attorney-only" states...

So, IMO, to answer your question - No...it's not worth it - since you can't do loan signings you have no need to receive e-docs at home OR mobile..

Like I said, maybe I'm missing something - like are you an attorney?.

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and had a question for those who work in attorney states, specifically Massachusetts. In an attorney state, do you still have mobile e-doc capability, and if so, is it worth it? I'm trying to decide whether or not to go mobile with a laser and was wondering...

Thanks in advance!
