Hi, Shannon

I saw that you replied to my posting in April, thanks. The reason for my question is that this particular client is basically after 1 year of paying my fees is trying to cut their costs when they make $1000's on the meeting. I had agreed to waive my $50 travel fee if they had 15 or more signatures. So, on most occasions they have either 22 (2 signers - 90%) or 11 (1- signer - 10%) so I was giving them a flat fee of $150 + parking & waiting. Now, they have decided that they want to reduce my travel to $25 & not pay for parking or waiting. Is that insane? There are times when I wait an hour or longer for either the client or the attorney to arrive because of traffic. WHat are your thoughts?

Is there an average fee that we should be charging for travel 20 miles or less? How much should we charge for waiting? Is it not ethical to charge the client for parking if they don't validate? Does anyone give discounts to repeat clients or allow them to cut their fees because that's what they want to pay?

The reason why I'm asking is because on average I charge $40 for travel + parking. Often I will park @ a meter if that is most convenient. But, I have recently encountered a situation w/a regular client who I give a flat fee + parking & I will charge for waiting & cancellation if I have arrived @ the appointment. Am I being unreasonable?
