What if your client doesn't show up.
If you don't have a mobile phone number for the person meeting you at the jail, you should not take such an assignment. Its easy for them to just stand you up, and that will frequently happen. Find a way to call your client, and if you can't reach them, then leave.
Finding a meeting spot.
Jails are large places, and finding someone can be hard. Its sometimes easier to meet at a restaurant nearby and walk to the jail together.
What if there is no ID for the inmate.
If your client who is generally the girlfriend, relative, or attorney of the inmate doesn't have the inmate's ID, you may be able to use two credible identifying witnesses. This is legal in many states. Please see our section on credible witness tips.
