Travel fees?
You can charge whatever you like for travel fees in most states. There are a few states like AZ, NH, MD, NC, and WA and a few others where there are restrictions on travel fees. But, in other states you can charge what the market will bear. Keep in mind that customers are usually in a desperate rush to find someone who will come and take care of the job, so you can start out asking for a higher fee, and then if they are in a bargaining mood, you can lower it a bit. Charge anywhere from $35-$75 depending on the job. Jail and hospital travel fees should be high, because they have a high cancellation rate and are time consuming. Late night signings should have a high travel fee too.
