MI - Other Information of Interest
Michigan has a new law of interest that specifies that a notary no longer needs to state, "Acting in the county of ___" when performing a notary act in their county of commission. Below is what the official text states:

Based on MCL 55.287
Section 27(2) of the Act has been amended to eliminate the previous requirement that all notary certificates must include the statement, "Acting in the county of _______ ", when a notary performs a notarial act in their county of commission. Section 27(2) was also updated to make it obligatory that the notarial certificate include the date the notarial act was performed.

With those changes, the notary certificate must include:
(a) The name of the notary exactly as it appears in their application for commission as a notary public
(b) The words, "Notary Public, State of Michigan, County of _______"
(c) The statement, "My commission expires ______________"
(d) If performing a notarial act in a county other than the county of commission, the verbiage, "Acting in the county of ______"
(e) The date the notarial act was executed.
