Duress

Function: noun

A signature on a document signed by a signer who was being forced or threatened into signing the document can be considered a signature that was made under duress. The threat must be of serious bodily harm or death and must be immediate and inescapable. The defendant must have become involved in the situation through no fault of their own.

Constraint by threat, or coercion.
