Thanks SAMK and DOCSONTHEFLY for your feedback.

I'm like you DOCSONTHEFLY, I don't normally leave home for less than $50.00 either, but some of the N3 jobs were so close and convenient to me, that I decided to do them for the measly $20.00 after realizing they will ALMOST NEVER negotiate that rate unless they are desperate. But after all of the cancellations, I've decided enough is enough, unless I can get $50.00 or more.

It would be nice if ALL notaries abandoned this company.

You were too kind. I do not take nonsense from people like this. This is what I wrote the last time I dealt with these people and I have not heard from them since. Thank God, its not worth getting in the car for $20.
=============================
GET REAL WITH YOUR FEES! I was called and told the lady that my fee was $50. I cannot and will not work for $20.00 Time /Gas/Supplies/ Insurance, DOES NOT PAY. If you don't want to pay that is fine but no need to contact me for that fee because, I have a good reputation and have plenty of repeat work at much higher fees. My lowest fee is $50.00. Every job you have given me you have cancelled. I will accept only one more job from you. If it gets cancelled remove me from your email list because I cannot book time with a company that cannot live up to its commitments and potentially causes me to lose good paying work.
Thank you,

Do any of you accept assignments from N3 Notary? If so, I'd like to hear your thoughts. If not, beware! One, they only pay $20.00 and two, they can care less about your time, the distance you have to drive or the fact that you have to print docs and drop them overnight. Basically, they have no concerns for the notary at all and will almost never negotiate their measly $20.00 rate. Here's the deal with them; they primarily hire notaries to pick up Medical records, Billing records and Direct Questions, primarily from Doctor's offices or medical facilities. The notary is required to notarize the Custodian of Records signature on two different docs, update you notary log and that's basically it. They also require you to print about 15 sheets, which I've never had to use. The Custodian of Records ALWAYS have copies and they're completed when you arrive. But I figure with my luck, the first time I decide not to print will be the wrong time, so I just always do it. After picking up the records, you then need to drop them at UPS and then SUPPOSEDLY within a specific number of hours (which I always ignore), go onto their website and complete the assignment.

These assignments are generally fast and effortless, but worth much more than their rate of $20.00. I always try getting at least $25.00, but they are very firm with that rate. I have only negotiated a slightly higher rate just twice when they were desperate. I don't work for them much, but when I do, I don't leave my neighborhood and try to stay within minutes from my house.

I sent the following e-mail to them yesterday regarding their cancellation habits. Check it out! They may never call me again, and if not, so be it.

Let me know your thoughts about this company.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with your lack of concern for my time and services. I currently have the printed paperwork for 3 previous orders that I'd agreed to do. I spent my time and used my toner and paper for printing documents, making multiple calls to try to get the appointments scheduled and rearranged my days in anticipation of completing the jobs; to later find out that they've been cancelled.

This particular order #853812 was assigned to me last week. I made numerous calls with no answer. Finally, I received a call from the client's office indicating that the contact person was out and to call back the following week. I notified you of this and was told that you'd call me to see if I would be available to complete it. I received a call from you on Tues. morning asking me if I would be able to do it and I accepted. I got up the next morning with hopes of completing it that day. Made multiple calls to make contact and schedule the appointment, and when I finally reached the contact, I was told another notary was coming out on Friday. I notified you of this and now find that this order is canceled. Is it truly canceled or has it been reassigned?

Your rate of $20.00 is already ridiculously low for what's usually involved. I agree, a lot of the assignments are quick and simple where $20.00 is sufficient if you can stay within a 10 to 15 mile radius. However, I spend a lot of my time and cost for toner and paper trying to coordinate most jobs, and feel some compensation is needed for all of the efforts when a job is canceled. Is my time valuable to you?

If you need me again, I'll make sure I make the necessary allowances to avoid a waste of my time and resources.

Frustrated Notary!
