Oh yes. I just received a 1099 from one company for whom I did one signing and the 1099 was inflated by $1430. I've called a number of times and was finally told they are looking into it and that I will be called soon.
Please, everybody ---- compare your 1099's with your records!!!

There have been comments on NotaryRotary about incorrect 1099's and several people who are Tax Preparers have written how to handle this type of situation.

Just starting my taxes and noticed HVR claimed they paid me $1485 for the year when my records show $850.00 and they still owe me 50.00 for the last job they screwed me out of.

Those notaries that did at least get the money they were due from these crooks better also check their 1099's
