I always ask clients to send me an e-mail stating that they agree to my bid or fee and state the date that I would be paid along with a address phone number and name of the business. I confirm the business and call the business after I research a ad and call the number on the ad and ask for the person that contacted me keeps me out of trouble.

I did a document signing for Wells Fargo Bank at 2933 Los Feliz Bl.in Los Angeles the last week of April. The agreed upon fee was $60. I asked for payment when I completed the notarization but was told by a Mr. Yarian (who ordered the work) that they didn’t pay at the time of signing but payment would be sent to me. He asked me to email him an invoice, which I did within 24 hours. A couple of weeks went by and I got an email from Mr Yarian telling me I needed to send him a W9, which I also did. When I didn't get payment several days later, I called, only to be shouted at by Mr. Yarian, "Don't call me!" and hung up on. I tried another approach and called the branch manager, Freda Sarkisyan. She was extremely difficult to reach. When I finally did reach her and asked her about payment, she told me to call back Mon. of the following week so she could do some research. That was the last I was ever to reach her. She kept avoiding my phone calls for over a week. Finally, she had someone on her staff call me and tell me that this was not a 'simple payment', but that they had to put me on their payroll first! I told her I had done signings for other Wells Fargo branches and was paid on the spot. She informed me that every branch was different. That was several days ago and still no payment. Beware of this branch.
