I did a signing for this company on June 21, 2016. Called on 8/22 and was asked to resend my invoice. Still no payment. Can't get anyone to answer the phone today - imagine that!

I did a signing for them on April 6, 2015 and was paid today, April 24, 2015. They were easy to work with and the docs were sent on time. Will work for them again.

I have done a number of signings for Joe. He does expect you to invoice him. The clock doesn't start until you do. And, when you do, you get paid promptly.

I've been working with this company now for about a year now. I have no real complaints. Just handled a closing for them yesterday. This company is one of the few I can honestly say I will continue to work for them.

I have done work for Joe in the past and have problems with timely payment. When I have tried to collect the moneys from him I get no response. I did work for him 9/25/2013 and still have not received payment.

Awesome. Will take everything they can send my way. Got an email recently that they found two signings I'd done in 2011 for which they had not paid me.

Can you imagine that? I wish all SS companies had this much integrity!

I did 2 signings for them last month and got paid for both this month. It appears they pay on the 15h of the following month you complete signing on. They always met my fee and very great to talk with.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am forwarding a complaint related to the multiple contacts and the time consuming distraction to my business after being contacted at 9:00 am by Joe Mecklenburg at Universal Notary Inc. for the above mentioned borrower signing at 12:30 p.m. in ********.

Mr. Mecklenburg committed a series of errors having lied and fabricated multiple times information including in an email to Ms. Guiterrez that there were “traffic issues in *******” suggesting I might be late for the signing which was
completely false.

When there is a 3 hour window for an appointment, it is customary for a loan signing agent to request when the documents will be available for download. As a result of this issue, Mr. Mecklenburg did something unusual by sending an email to Ms. Guitierrez suggesting my attending the appointment might be problematic. while lying about “traffic issues” when all he had to do was ask when the
documents would be ready.

Since the documents were sent over to Universal at 9:15 a.m., it fortifies my assertion the bizarre communications of Mr. Mecklenburg, not to mention his incompetence of forwarding the confidential borrower documents to me after the signing was allegedly cancelled by Prominent.

The issue of the incorrect phone number being inputted by Mr. Montgomery became less of an issue to me as the notary then the fact Mr. Mecklenburg’s communications misrepresented circumstances influencing the outcome of a cancellation of my services.

When Mr. Montgomery contacted me taking up more of my time related to the phone number issue and stated he knew of no cancellation by Ms. Guiterrez, I was truly amazed. I had also just received the documents by email from Universal in error and was prepared to do the signing directly due to Universal’s incompetence.

Mr. Mecklenburg’s attitude towards me in this matter, claiming it was my “attitude” that caused me to lose the signing was a cover-up for his multiple errors that I wanted to confirm is quite outrageous. I have never encountered such an arrogant attitude when clearly I should have been issued an apology.

I am not an employee of Universal Notary Inc. and when they contact me, I expect they that hold up their end by providing me with accurate information. If there’s a wrong information in their order, it’s their responsibility to get the correct information, not the loan signing agent.

The problems with Mr. Mecklenburg’s communications are summarized as
follows:

1. Failed to properly communicate when documents would be ready when in fact they had been received by Universal at 9:15 a.m.

2. Sent over a fabricated email to Ms. Guiterrez about potential issues over alleged “bad traffic in ******” of my possibly being late to signing due to my inquiry as to when the documents would be available.

3. Provided a garbled difficult to read confirmation of the signing with slash symbols and lack of proper punctuation.

4. When asked, claimed he’d be happy to try to call the borrower at the Black Rock phone number in case there was an issue with AT&T connectivity, then immediately thereafter sent a cancellation email without explanation. [The borrower later claimed an incorrect non working number was mistakenly entered so it wasn't my fault)

5. When I called about the cancellation, Mr. Mecklenburg didn’t apologize for taking up my time with his comedy of errors.

6. Had such poor relations with Ms. Guiterez that Mr. Montgomery called me inquiring as to what the problem was with the signing.

7. Had poor attitude blaming me for his problems with false communications and basic phone number and document arrival issues.

Mr. Mecklenburg is apparently lazy and doesn’t want to deal with issues when that is his job. He therefore created more problems with his ineffective ways of addressing the matters described herein while wanting to blame my attitude for it all.

Sincerely yours,

Notary's Life

I love this company. Wish I had more work from them. The only drawback is that they do a bulk business with Fremont Bank and they won't pay out more than $50 for Fremont signings. They are super quick and easy and always come by overnight mail, but not worth my time. Never an issue getting paid.

I have had the opportunity to work with Universal Notary for a couple of years and cherish the experience. They are professional, great to work with, honest, and fair. I have always been treated respectfully, paid fairly, and ON TIME! I will work with them every opportunity I get.

Ok good news here. I did a signing for Universal Notary on 3/26 and received the check today 4/13, so they paid in 2-3 weeks.

However, I did get an email from Joe asking me whether I would work for them in the future for $100 per signing, instead of the $125 negotiated for this job. I guess their normal fee is $100.

I just did a signing for them on 3/26/2012. Universal Notary is run by Joe Mecklenburg and he seemed very nice to work for, and I noticed they did get good reviews and feedback in another notary forum. I will post as soon as I get paid from them.
