As of December, 2014 I can confirm firsthand that Claudia Nogan of C Viana & Associates is still pulling this no/late payment bull crap on notaries.

I completed a signing for her on October 26th, 2014. I failed to catch any bad reviews of her company when researching it because I was under the impression she said she represented the law firm Martineau, Davis & Associates (whether she did in fact said she that or I misheard her I honestly can’t remember, but it's something to be aware of).

Despite her confirmation email claiming payment will be sent in 30 days, I didn't received payment until Dec, 17th, 2014. That's 51 days later and it required numerous emails to Claudia Nogan herself, several phone calls to both Martineau, Davis & Associates and Maverick Funding, plus threats of collections and legal action before she cough up my payment. Not to mention having to put up with her constant lies and excuses the whole time, such as being told checks are actually cut later than 30 days and that my payment was sent 12/5 but when I received it, it was post marked 12/12.

Spare yourself the headache and stay away from this company. The fact she's still in business for over 6 years now acts as a disservice to the notary community.

Yes I did one for her in February and still have not been paid. I called the Attorney office in RI, Martineau Davis and Associates, (MDA) they informed me today, 5/2/15, that she was on vacation, (that we're all paying for btw) and they would try to resolve it when she returns. I also called the loan officer, Maria Tarro, at Maverick Funding to inform her of the situation and she was very surprised and not happy about it. She gave me the owner of MDA cell phone and I left him a message. Claudia is an LLC issued by the state of NJ,...so I also sent a complaint to New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. If you cant find the form online, here is their email and phone # askconsumeraffairs@lps.state.nj.us
973-504-6200. So call the title co, call the loan officer, and file a complaint with the state.

I have worked for Claudia for a few years now. At first she was great and paid within 30 or so days. Then she went to over 30 days and then to 60 days with no explanation. Now I have been waiting over 90 days for the last signing I did for her, and I mean the LAST signing I will ever do for her. The last several signings I did for her, I would only accept if docs were in house and close to my home. Her clients for the last year and a half have pressured her to get a notary in 5 minutes but no docs in house. Docs became ridiculously late in the evening, often after the confirmed time to sign. She was driving me crazy with "docs will be out in 15 minutes" only to arrive over an hour later. This screwed up my whole schedule. It was especially bad at end of month.I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt but she just does not run her business like a business. You choose, I have better things and better companies to work for.

I have done several closing for them, they are so nice on the phone but so difficult to get payments from, you have to beg. I won't do any more I am still waiting on last payment from 12/27/2012, there is no excuse for this they get the funding in 3 days.

Recd payment 9 Jul for 20 Apr job. Check recd was a replacement check for ck dtd 15 Jun that was "lost in mail". The US postal service has a problem handling mail in NJ. This has happened "often" according to posts. My policy has become "one strike and your out".

I don't understand why you people do no checking prior to "extending credit" to whoever makes your phone ring. A simple Google of "C Viana & Associates" shows a "hit" on NotaryRotary dated back in '08 that mentions "difficulty getting payment".

They use your cell time, toner, printer, gas, time, skill and much much more. How and why do you accept "work first" "possibly get paid later" when a simple Google shows, as a minimum; an area of concern.

If they called me it would be full fee "up front" or no cigar.

TRUST HAS TO BE EARNED - Not given away to strangers.

Did a job on 20 Apr.

Was told the following on 31 May - Thanks XXXX...I'll make sure a check gets out to you ASAPs...

Apparently "ASAP" means not before 60 days, maybe 90?

I am still waiting on payment from 2/22/2012 job. I called several times and emails. I finally got through a month later after no return calls or emails. they stated they sent the check to the wrong zip code. They said they will mail a new check ASAP. I should receive by 4.20/2012. Will update when paid..
