I have worked with Harvard Abstract in Mt. Laurel, NJ, many times. They are also known as Precision Settlement Services. They pay at funding if everything goes as planned and the loan closes successfully. However, I have found that if something is out of the norm then your payment may fall through the cracks. That happened to me on a successful split signing where I was the second notary. The first notary got paid but I did not. It took quite a few friendly inquiries but I did finally receive payment.

One thing to note is that they have a main office in PA that may be the best place to address any payment issues:

I've closed 11 loans for them and never had a problem. They have always paid quickly and are nice to deal with.

I did a job for them last Sept. Easy to work with. NO jumping through hoops. They let you do your job. Paid in 7 days.

A few people on NR's forum had experience with Harvard Abstract. Mixed reviews, but most were positive. Has anyone else worked with these guys?

Back in May 2010 I was called to do a closing with Harvard Abstract of Mt Laurel, NJ. The signing was cancelled after the docs were printed and I was heading out the door. They told me they would bump up the fee when I completed the closing when it was rescheduled. The following week they called me to do the closing but I was not available. I asked about the print fee and they said to send invoice. I still have not been paid, I have emailed, left messages faxed and get absolutely NO response.
