It would seem that their policy on paying invoices is not until they've aged properly.

Based upon comments, thought they were okay. Not so far.

They paid 11/2/09 (including late payments penalties) after a complaint to the local area BBB. They are members of the BBB.

I have done a couple of jobs for JG Wentworth and both times I have requested payment by Paypal. Once the jobs were complete, I called them and they completed the transaction. Money in account by the end of the day, then transfered to my bank account the next day. As long as they continue to pay me by Paypal, I will work for them.

9/15/08 exactly the same event as my last post for JGW. I think the agents pay the notary out of their own pocket and try to avoid any payment if they can. They are on a pay first (credit card at my site) basis for me to do anything for them. Funny part is: They often tell me the client will be paying - speak to the client ---> they say JGW will be paying. Sounds to me like nobody wants to pay. What I don't understand is why the JGW people tell me they will credit card pay within the hour. Possibly they don't realize that my cell gets email and I know if payment was made - they seem to think that as I am "out in the field" - I won't know they did not pay till after I do the job. They never seem to want to send an email with details and a payment amount, always info over the phone and no written record. Not fer me!

I do hope they have changed their payment practices. It really is hard when we do an assignment then have to spend hours collecting for the job we already accomplished.

Paypal payment would be great!

I have completed 3 signings for J G Wentworth within the past 4 months and was paid within 2 weeks for each one. I, too, thought there might be pay issues when I accepted the first one but received payment within 2 days. So the next time they called I took the signing and again not a problem getting paid right away.

Just yesterday 8/26/2008 they contacted me. Wanted a structured settlement notarized. I too had a bad experience - long time collecting. I told them to use my "pay now" credit card facility on my site, as I had prior experience waiting for the "court award". They agreed and said that it would be done ASAP. Nothing happened, no more calls, no payment. The are still on a "pay first" basis with me.

This is good news. I was stiffed by them a long time ago. They call me all the time and I won't do them. Now that you have posted this I will give them another chance. Thanks Joan!!

If you haven't seen their ads on TV this is a company that cashes out annuities, lottery winnings, etc for people who want the money immediately.

The difficult part of working with them was getting paid. I would often get paid months after the assignment. Normally I would get paid after the Court okayed the settlement.

Well, there is good news with this company payment procedures; I got paid the same day I did the assignment. They are using PayPal and credit cards for payment and I have a PayPal account.
