I believe any printer capable of PCL-4 should work for all eDocs in use today. That is pretty advanced and allows for scalable complex fonts already.

PCL-6 is a highgrade language upgrade useful for high resolution grayscale pictures and offset resolution printing, but I don't think it should be needed for a text (font) style print job.

BUT, I'd be interested if anybody else has any info other than that!

I have used brother printers since i first became a paralegal 10 yrs ago and even today both of my printers (brothers) i have never had a problem with any of the different programs such as swiftview-dynamic docs-or any of the others.
p.s. my 2nd printer is 10 yrs old and still prints excellently.

PCL-6 is not software.
PCL is Printer Command (or control) language.

To print out edocs you should have a printer with the PCL 5 or 6 drivers in order to print out the e-mailed docs. The HP 1200 on up do have the drivers. PCL drivers are proprietary to HP printers.
Other printers may emulate them, but there is no guarantee printers other than the HP will work.

I am not a software person, but I heard that there is a type of software called PCL-6 which can eliminate a lot of downloading problems and printing problems. Please comment on this if you know anything about it.
